Although OneHQ is a relatively new brand, our roots go back to 2005. For 19 years, we have been a trusted partner to hundreds of organisations across New Zealand and Australasia.

OneHQ Timeline

2005

Fission IT was founded in Auckland.

2007

Fission merges with SCS.

2009

Operational maturity still low. Fulltime headcount 8. Organization structure is very flat, and it’s often all hands on deck!

2011

Our private cloud services are born, mainly providing terminal servers.

2014

Microsoft Gold partner status is achieved. Microsoft Office 365 is here and lots of cloud migrations start in earnest. Fulltime Headcount 15.

2015

Branch office is opened in Taranaki. Now managing over 500 servers. Continuous improvement ethos kicks into gear across the business. The customer base has grown significantly.

2017

Operational maturity has improved significantly but still a long way to go! Total number of client environments that we have moved from legacy email systems to Exchange online reaches 200+. OneHQ reaches top 10 in the country for number of IBM/Lenovo servers provisioned this year.

2019

Company rebrands as OneHQ. Head office moves from Mt Wellington to larger premises in Newmarket, Auckland.

2020

Covid lockdowns drive much greater adoption of working from home for our clients, and unified comms and secure remote access gains a sharp focus in a difficult time for NZ. Our headcount reaches 28.

2021

Christchurch office opened. Our product and service development focus moves strongly to cyber security and the corresponding frameworks.

2023

Operational maturity is now at level 4 (out of 5). Roles across the business are much more granular. IT security is now part of our DNA. Automation and AI play a solid part in many of our processes. Headcount reaches 51

2024

ISO27001 and 9001 are achieved. Full review of client cyber security offerings is completed.
